In 1979, Roy Moore was 32 when he allegedly approached Leigh Corfman, who was 14, Wendy Miller, 17, and Gloria Deason, 18. They were 18, 15, and 14 years younger than him, respectively.
In 1981, Roy Moore was 34 when he allegedly approached Debbie Gibson, who was 17. They were 17 years apart when her mother said she would be “the luckiest girl in the world” with him.
In 1985, Roy Moore was 38 when he married Kayla Kisor, who was 24. They were 14 years apart.
In a radio interview, Sean Hannity asked Moore if he remembers “dating girls that young at that time?”
“Not generally, no,” Moore said. “If I did, I’m not going to dispute anything, but I don’t remember anything like that.” It was not exactly the principled outraged Moore’s supporters might have hoped for.
More denies Corfman’s allegation of sexual activity, but that’s all he denies. His very marriage provides additional evidence against him. Roy Moore has only ever been interested in girls 10+ years younger than him.
It is not a crime to prefer partners younger than you…unless they’re so young that it is. Unfortunately the statute of limitations for what Moore is almost certain to have done ran out just before he married. The only remaining punishment for which he is eligible is being denied a seat in the US Senate.
UPDATE: It’s even more conclusive now, by his own admission. Moore first remembers seeing his future wife at the same time he is accused of preying on teenagers at the mall. And she was the same age they were.
